On March 14 2012 300 guests gathered at the Waldorf Hilton, Aldwych, to celebrate the 2011 Non-executive Director (NED) Awards. It was the 6th annual NED Awards ceremony, which continues to recognise exceptional NEDs who surpass expectations within both business and the not-for-profit sectors.
The appointment of a NED highly influences whether investors, shareholders, customers and bankers will support an organisation. Not only do they bring their name to the company, but many have gone that extra mile to be the independent voice that challenges business practices, and in turn adding value to company strategy, performance, human resources and risk management.
